The Kipeni Safe House Foundation Team

Anna Poindere

Anna is Latvian by birth and, after moving to UK as a young student, she finished her degree there and later met Robin.

“We moved back to Latvia and are now trying to make a difference. My wider focus is on bio-farming and how Latvia can be more successful in implementing sustainable development.”

Robin Poynder

Robin is a Brit who moved to Latvia in 2019 and is now a resident here.

“I have built a deep affection for the country and the rich culture that blossomed when Latvia gained independence – I have witnessed what can happen when a country rebuilds. I recently completed a client engagement and am focusing on completing the Safe House. We commit to total transparency through the life of this work, from the build itself to the ongoing care and support of the families. We live on-site to maintain the  momentum and  to provide support to the families as they settle in.”

The Kipeni Safe House Charitable Foundation

The Foundation (Kipeni Safe House Nodibinājums, Latvija registered number 40008323983) has been established to manage the Safe House, ensuring ongoing security and management for any donations that have been made. The Foundation has no employees and every penny or cent that is donated will go to the management and benefit of the Safe House and the occupants.

Our friends and sponsors

We have a range of friends and sponsors. Some are supporting the Safe House project through their generous donations and others are helping the project directly by providing a significantly discounted product or service, or through donations of furniture and kitchen items.

PBReconstruction

Sergey and his team have worked hard to bring the budget down to something we could work with and have built the house with good EU quality. Quality product, no delays from them and to budget. That is good to find!

Spilbridge Attorneys

Daimars and the team at Spilbridge have been very generous in working pro bono to help us establish the Kipeni Safe House charitable foundation. They have made what appeared a complicated process far more manageable with their clear and knowledgeable guidance.

Logu Pasaule

Sandis has been hugely supportive in providing the required windows and doors at a significant discount in recognition of the charitable aims of the Kipeni Safe House Foundation.

Global Impact Initiative

Anjum and the team have kindly offered to support the resident refugees with access to their specially designed online English language tuition, at no charge, to aid the transition into new job opportunities.

beebox

Dāvis and Jānis are a couple of lovely guys who measure with care (and help with design ideas from their experience). They source and fitted the kitchens for us with diligence and care!

WOODHEART

Tālis and his team did a great job from measuring to building and fitting oak tread staircases, including a less common 'u' shape from second to third floor

ZINTAÖ

SIA ZINTAO is a company that provides architecture and design services. The architects Lāsma and Mārcis Zintis Zilgalvji were amazingly helpful and sensitive in their support of Kipeni Safe House
